Superintendent’s Message:

Welcome to the Buena Park School District’s website. The District’s Governing Board and staff take great pride in serving the communities of Buena Park, La Palma, Anaheim, La Mirada and Fullerton. With a rich history dating back to 1890, the Buena Park School District has been a community center for student learning and child development for over a century.

In a rapidly changing 21st century, we are pleased to continue to be in the forefront of providing instructional and support services to our students. The Buena Park School District strives for success with all students in achieving their greatest potential. Our efforts are reflected by the recent nomination of our schools as United States Blue Ribbon Schools, as California Distinguished Schools and Title I High Achieving School award winners.

The new school year clearly brings us long awaited opportunities to further support academic achievement and success for students. In 2014-15, we will implement Common Core State Standards and other highly anticipated program and service enhancements including: smaller class sizes; a new early literacy initiative; the return of daily school library services; computer lab renovation at each campus; increased student counseling services; and an expanded staff development program.

Further, with the gracious support of our community and the approval of Measure ‘B’, this year will bring wireless technology into each classroom and begin the process of modernizing every classroom and campus in the District.

At Buena Park School District our staff is committed to providing our students a world class education. With more than 225 fully credentialed teachers, a cadre of Nationally Board Certified Teachers, recognized early literacy experts, and highly trained paraprofessionals, we are proud to serve the community’s 5,200 pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students.

Our District theme: “Improving the Lives of our Students and Families” underscores our commitment to students; the work we proudly perform with our parents and extended families; and recognizes the enduring impact of our schools and staff as a cornerstone of the community.

I am very proud of the high quality services and resources we are able to provide our students and families. I hope you will take time to review our website and visit our schools and staff.
