Dear Gilbert Families:

 

Welcome back to the 2011-2012 school year!  We have a number of programs planned that will help your child and all students at Gilbert School succeed.  The number of parents and community volunteers that made a commitment to making Gilbert School the best it can be last year will be called upon again for their valuable assistance.  The staff, students and community who comprise our wonderful school are a powerful team!  Parents are encouraged to actively join the “team” by participating in the PTO or  School Site Council.  A meeting was held on September 9^th to begin the election process for these committees.  The level of parent involvement at Gilbert is directly correlated to our high level of student success.

 

I would personally like to thank the Gilbert family for putting forth a fabulous effort in maximizing each and every student’s potential last year.  Their efforts showed in our overall test scores moving in a positive direction again this past school year.  We are continuing to work towards making sure all students succeed, and finding ways to assist students that are facing instructional challenges.

 

Use your Parent Handbook/Calendar to keep yourself up to date on important aspects of the school, and feel free to come by the office and ask any questions you have of me or the Gilbert staff in general.  Our job is to serve our community, and in turn, assist all children.  Have a wonderful 2011-2012 school year.
