RE: Buena Park School District Facilities Master Plan – An Update

To Parents, Community Members & Staff

The Buena Park School District developed a Facility Master Plan and we are currently in the implementation phase. Our goal with respect to our Facilities Plan is to provide facility enhancements that:

Our goal with respect to the Facility Master Plan is to further refine our plans with special focus on the following:
  1. Enhance student and staff safety
  2. Enhance academic achievement by:
    • Modernizing classrooms
    • Implementing classroom technology that fosters achievement and promotes student success in college and career.
Projects completed to date include the following:
  • Campus-wide Wi-Fi (at all sites)
  • Emery & Pendleton Elementary classroom modernization (including enhanced classroom technology, new furniture, and new phone/bell/clock systems)
  • Beatty Elementary boiler/chiller replacement
  • Installation of rubberized playground surfaces (at all of our elementary sites)
  • Installation of Gilbert Elementary wrought iron fencing
  • Re-roofing of select building wings at Buena Park Junior High and Pendleton Elementary.
 
A project currently in progress is the Corey Elementary seismic upgrade project slated for completion in the October timeframe. Additional projects slated for future construction includes:
  • Buena Park Junior High, Gilbert Elementary, & Whitaker Elementary classroom modernizations
  • Beatty Elementary seismic upgrade project
  • New phone/bell/clock system at our remaining 5 school sites (i.e., Buena Park Junior High, Beatty Elementary, Corey Elementary, Gilbert Elementary, and Whitaker Elementary)
